The date for the JEE Advanced exam for the year 2026 has been released by the IIT Roorkee. As per the JEE Advanced exam schedule, the exam will take place on May 17th, 2026. Exam Mode 

The JEE Advanced Exam 2026 will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. The engineering entrance exam will be conducted online at selected centers across the country. Students must prepare with online mock tests to familiarize themselves with the online interface, question navigation, and the submission process. This eliminates any confusion or surprises on the exam day. 

JEE Advanced Exam Schedule

The JEE Advanced 2026 exam will be held on May 17th, 2026. The entrance exam will have two compulsory papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2. Each paper will have been allotted 3 hours to finish, with a total of 6 hours for the exam. This schedule will provide students with an appropriate time to finish the exam without any conflicts.

Languages

Registration

The applications for JEE Advanced 2026 will open in the month of April 2026. The entire registration process will be held online on the official JEE website. The JEE Main candidates can log in to the JEE Advanced registration portal using the JEE Main application number and password.

While all the personal and academic details will be fetched from the JEE Main database, they have to fill in additional information to complete the registration process. This includes scanning and uploading the following documents. Please note that the documentation varies as per the nationality of the candidate.

Scribe Request Letter	Only if a scribe is required due to disability (forms are available on the official website).
Compensatory Time Request Letter	Only if extra time is required due to disability.
DS (Defence Service) Certificate	Only if applicable.
Gazette Notification for name change	Only if the candidate's name differs from the Class X certificate.

Documents required for OCI/PIO candidates are as follows:

Seat Allocation 

The JEE Advanced Exam ranks will be the deciding factor for admission to the IITs. The seat allocation for the IITs will be conducted through JoSAA counseling. Candidates must fill out their During the counseling process, candidates will have choices, and seats will be allotted based on their rank, category, and availability. 

Subjects Covered 

The engineering entrance exam tests candidates based on the physics, chemistry, and mathematics syllabi of Class 11 and Class 12. The questions are designed to evaluate conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills, and analytical ability.

JEE Advanced Exam Conducting Body - IIT Roorkee

Every year, the JEE Advanced Exam is administered by one of the seven zonal IITs, based on a rotation system that is overseen by the Joint Admission Board (JAB). This year, IIT Roorkee is responsible for organizing the JEE Advanced as part of the annual rotation system.
