Importance of AIIMS
All India Institute of Medical Sciences ( AIIMS ) the admission of students to the 9 AIIMS institutions in India are based on the NEET entrance examination conducted by NTA. AIIMS Eligibility
The AIIMS New Delhi has set certain eligibility criteria that should be fulfilled by aspiring students before applying for AIIMS MBBS. The ineligible online registrants will not be permitted to appear for AIIMS UG medical entrance.
Qualifying Examination
Candidates applying for AIIMS must have completed their 10+2 from a recognized board (CBSE/ISC/State) with Biology, English, Physics and Chemistry as their main subjects. Candidates appearing for their Class 12 board exam in the respective year is also eligible to apply for AIIMS entrance exam.
Age Requirement & Limit
All candidates appearing for AIIMS entrance must have completed 17 years as on 31st December of the respective year.
Qualifying Marks
The aggregate marks of PCB subjects are considered for qualifying. Based on the category of the candidate the qualifying marks varies.
General and OBC – 60%
SC/ST – 50%
PWD – 45%
Maximum Attempts
Candidates can attempt the AIIMS entrance exam any number of times till 30 years of age.
Nationality
Indian nationals, Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), Person of Indian Origin (PIOs), Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), and foreign nationals can apply for AIIMS MBBS.

1.How many branches AIIMS has?
AIIMS has 9 branches across the country, i.e. in New Delhi, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra.
2.How many seats AIIMS has in total?
There are 807 seats for MBBS in total from all the 09 branches of AIIMS. Out of which, 400 is available for general and the remaining reserved for different sections of society.
3.Does AIIMS have a separate entrance exam?
No, NEET will be the single entrance exam for enrolment to various medical colleges across the country, including AIIMS and JIPMER.
4.What is the total fee for studying in AIIMS?
The fee for Indian citizens is around 6000 for 05 years. This includes hostel fee also, although the availability of hostel is not confirmed. You may note that the fee structure is tentative to change.
5.What will be the mode of entrance exam (NEET)?
The NEET will be conducted in pen and paper mode. Candidates will have to mark the answers in OMR sheets provided.
6.What is the syllabus for AIIMS admission?
Since AIIMS admission is conducted through the NEET exam, the questions will be from 10+2 level. The topics will be from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
7.How many questions will be included from each subject?
The questions for AIIMS will be asked from Physics(45), Chemistry(45) and Biology(90). A total of 720 marks will be awarded for a total 180 correct answers.
8. What was the cut off percentage of AIIMS?
As per AIIMS cutoff, candidates belonging to General category were required to score at least 50% marks in AIIMS entrance exam, while those from OBC category needed to score at least 45% and SC/ST candidates were required to score at least 40% in order to qualify the exam.
9. Is there any limitation regarding the number of attempts for AIIMS?
There is no limit to the number of attempts for AIIMS admission.
10. Is there any negative marking for the AIIMS exam?
The AIIMS admission is done through NEET exam. Each question carries four marks. There will be negative marking in this examination; one mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
